Tax Forms & Publications Committee

Our focus

The Tax Forms and Publications (TF&P) Project Committee reviews and develops recommendations to improve various IRS forms and publications identified by taxpayers or the IRS as needing revisions. TF&P Committee members occasionally serve as a focus group for new IRS forms and other informational filing initiatives. The committee is working on several projects related to the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act recently passed by Congress.

I am a native Montanan. I grew up in Missoula and Helena Montana and earned my Bachelor’s degree at theUniversity of Montana. I starting my working life as an educator. I taught math at summer programs for low-income, minority high school students who would be the first generation in their family to attend college. Itaught three years as a full time public school employee teaching math and physics for Granite SchoolDistrict in Salt Lake City. We moved to Oregon where I completed my Master’s degree in Mathematics at the University of Oregon. Atthat point, I had two young children and I was staying home with them. I got interested in income taxpreparation when I took a class. Thirty years later, I’m still preparing income tax returns. I’m a licensed taxconsultant in the state of Oregon and I became an Enrolled Agent in 1996. I work for Cascade TaxProfessionals, Inc. in Eugene Oregon. I am one of the owners of that small business. Taxes may have become my primary job, but teaching has always been my main passion. Through theyears I’ve taught seminars for Tax Preparer Associations in Oregon, I’ve helped to train VITA volunteers andI’ve taught a rigorous 80 hour Basic course at the local Community College to prepare students to sit for theinitial Oregon licensing exam. I’m looking forward to working with the Taxpayer Advocacy Panel.
