A Small World, A Stronger TAP

Sometimes the most memorable Taxpayer Advocacy Panel (TAP) moments don’t happen during meetings or conference calls. Sometimes they happen hundreds of miles from home.

Recently, TAP National Vice Chair Kyle Kipple and Toll-Free Phone Lines Committee Chair Tom Wolf had an unexpected encounter at Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico.

Neither knew the other would be there.

The chance encounter serves as a reminder that while TAP volunteers come from communities across the country, they are united by a shared commitment to serving as the voice of the taxpayer and helping improve IRS services, processes, and the taxpayer experience.

Moments like these reflect what makes TAP so unique. Beyond reviewing issues and developing recommendations, TAP brings together dedicated volunteers with a wide range of professional and personal experiences who are passionate about making a meaningful difference for taxpayers. The connections they build along the way are just one of the many rewards of serving.

What are the odds?

Apparently, for TAP, they’re better than you might think.

If you have ideas or suggestions for improving IRS services, forms, notices, or processes, TAP wants to hear from you. Your feedback helps identify opportunities to improve the taxpayer experience. Share your ideas for improving IRS processes and customer service by submitting Form 14388, Taxpayer Advocate (TAP) Issue Submission.
