TAP Committees

Use your voice to improve the IRS.

The Taxpayer Advocacy Panel (TAP) is dedicated to helping improve IRS customer service for all taxpayers. TAP wants to hear your suggestions for bettering IRS processes and customer service. TAP members serve as listening posts, gathering input from taxpayers on IRS issues, public attendance at TAP meetings is welcome. No matter your background, the TAP wants to hear from you – no tax experience necessary.

Joint Committee and Project Committee Meetings

The TAP Joint Committee and the Project Committee meetings are open to the public. The TAP is soliciting public comments, ideas, and suggestions to improve customer service and the taxpayer experience at the Internal Revenue Service. If you have questions about or would like to attend one of our TAP meetings virtually via Microsoft Teams or would like to be provided with dial-in information by phone, please email us at taxpayer.advocacy.panel@irs.gov. Project committees

Each TAP member is assigned to one of six Project Committees where they identify projects impacting taxpayers with a focus on making recommendations for improving IRS products and services, increasing customer satisfaction and improving the overall customer experience. TAP members focus on specific projects through project work and provide feedback to the IRS on new and existing IRS programs and initiatives.
