ABOUT ME:
I’m entering my third year on the Taxpayer Advocacy Panel (TAP) and have had the privilege of serving on multiple committees and helping lead Taxpayer Communication as Vice-Chair in 2025. In 2026, I look forward to serving as the National Chair for TAP. My journey with TAP has been deeply rewarding, and I’m passionate about continuing to amplify taxpayer voices and strengthen our impact.
BACKGROUND/SKILLS:
Raised in San Francisco, CA, I ended up studying philosophy at UC Berkeley and later earned my law degree at Hofstra Law School, where I discovered my passion for tax. Professionally, I am an attorney and serve as Chief Tax Officer at Optima Tax Relief, overseeing operations, leading strategic initiatives, and engaging with the IRS and industry stakeholders. My leadership style is rooted in trust, collaboration, and curiosity—skills honed through years of managing teams and driving organizational success.
WHY I JOINED TAP:
I joined TAP because I believe in the power of advocacy to make taxes easier and fairer for everyone. Volunteering has always been part of my life—from coordinating a VITA site during law school to working at a Low-Income Tax Clinic – TAP offered a unique opportunity to serve taxpayers on a national scale. My goal is simple: ensure every taxpayer feels heard and every recommendation we make drives meaningful change to improve the IRS.
FACT/HOBBY/INTERESTS:
Outside of TAP, I’m passionate about spending time outdoors, coffee (I roast my own beans) and quality time with my family, which includes a curious 9-year-old son and an adventurous 8-year-old daughter. When I’m not working or volunteering, you’ll find me looking for a new trail to hike, experimenting with coffee roasting, or making new memories together with loved ones.
