Many eligible taxpayers do not cliam the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC). This is due to the lack of awareness of the credit and/or its requirements. There is also a number of improper claims made for the credit.
Proposal:
TAP recommended a marketing insert be distributed to tax preparers and large corporations to provide a handy reference tool, either by hard copy or via email, that may heighten EITC awareness.
