Tips for Choosing Tax Preparer Letter

Statement of Issue:

The EITC Committee was asked to comment on "Tips for Choosing a Tax Preparer" which provides information on how to check the credentials of professional tax preparers, contains tips for the taxpayer to consider when choosing a tax preparer, and what tax professionals are required to provide.

Proposal:

The Committee recommended changing the title from "Tax Preparer" to "Paid Tax Preparer" and reformatted and edited the wording of the letter.
