Online Toolkit for SPEC And Partners

Statement of Issue:

The EITC Issue Committee was asked to provide recommendations for improving the online toolkit for W&I Stakeholder Partnerships, Education and Communication (SPEC) employees and partner organizations. This resource provides tax information, tax tips, downloadable materials in both English and Spanish and links to other resources.

Proposal:

The proposal contained line-by-line and feature-by -feature specific recommendations for improving the usability of the resources. In addition, the EITC Committee proposed that IRS provide a link to all IRS forms and publications when mentioned, improve the search feature, and provided specific proposals about duplicative material, confusing terminology, and grammatical errors.

Response Notes:

EITC Director reported that many of the Committee’s recommendations were incorporated into the SPEC toolkit for Tax Year 2004 and a detailed analysis is forthcoming.
